Risk updating bios
i am picking parts for my first PC i found a motherboard to go with my gigabyte website says. Hi everyone, I have the Maximus VI Formula motherboard and just noticed that there was a bios update to 0903.To enable AM3 AMD FX-Series CPU support, please update your motherboard with the most current BIOS found in your motherboard’s download section. Well i have read around and seen ALOT of people have f*&ed their motherboards updating. upd...there is an MSI Motherboard sale going on that also gives you free Memory but in order to do that I would have to update my BIOS (according to PCPart Picker) because I'm using a i5 4690K CPU(Haswell Refresh) and would not be compatible with the motherboard unless I do the update A few moments... I already have the e7200 processor, so there's no going back. Using the ASUS EZ Update utility, it downloaded the latest bios from the internet and went to the "updating screen". Hi Mac Rumors, I just wanted to know if it's okay to update my software without backing my files up.

Does anyone know whether or not it would be necessary to proceed with this BIOS upgrade (to A11) to support the proposed graphics card upgrade?
( nvidia GTX 7xxx series or AMD R9 ) If yes, has anybody successfully managed to update their BIOS from A02 directly to A11 without raising the BIOS version incrementally, to A03, A04......
